Elina Kovać

Elina was born into a family of artists – her mother is a ceramist and her father is a painter and art historian. Until the age of 14, she was actively involved in skiing, but an encounter with art changed her direction: the first exhibition of her father Vadim Kovács that she saw sparked a strong interest in painting, and in just a year, she changed her plans to embark on the path of art. She graduated from a secondary art school with a degree in Textiles and continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest.

More about the author

Her experiments with batik techniques lead her to painting on glass – a field in which she develops her own multi-layered and extremely precise style.
The multi-layered drawing is part of a long and particularly patient process. Very often, completing a painting takes several weeks of consistent and very punctual work.
Every small detail and graphic sign appears thanks to the special precision with which Elina works and creates.
Precision and patience that she inherited from her parents, but also patience that her three wonderful children taught her. Elina is a mother of two girls and a boy. Her eldest daughter – Laura, continues the family creative tradition, working as an art lighting architect in one of the most technological companies in Oslo.

The ease with which Elina’s works appear is an exact reflection of her light, free and open character.
In the process of her work, the artist constantly experiments and discovers new possibilities and techniques. Elina is one of the authors who very expressively and boldly uses all possibilities, which makes her paintings particularly interesting, recognizable and unique.
